WiRE New Networks

Bath & North East Somerset (B&NES) WiRE Network has it's first meeting this month thanks to Network Leader Jeanette Howells.

We wish the group lots of success!

Account Guidelines for Networks

We have put together some account guidelines for Network Leader's. These clarify tax laws in relation to network groups. Our aim is to keep things as simple and admin free as possible. We will send the guidelines in a separate email and it includes a constitution which all network groups need to adopt. In the meantime you can download the Network Accounts Guidelines from Global resources along with an accounts template.

Inside Wire

We have been mulling over for months (years even!) how larger businesses, employees, and even men can be part of the WiRE network. To benefit of both them and members in a way that will enhance our network and not dilute the dynamics of meetings, or change the emphasis of what we do.  We have now cracked the problem and will be introducing our new ' Business Associate Scheme' with the launch of our new website in June.

All applications will be vetted for appropriateness and potential added value to WiRE member businesses. And numbers will be  limited.

Business Associate features will include:

  • Business listing and special offers (with logo) in 4 WiRE e-newsletters
  • Searchable Directory listing on the WiRE Website
  • Opportunity to speak at WiRE network meetings (by invitation of Network Leaders)
  • Promotion opportunities and reduced rate entry at WiRE conferences
  • Opportunity to submit Business Help Articles featured on the WiRE website

More information will be made available nearer the time of the launch but in the meantime if you know anyone who might be interested let them or us know!

Network Leader Days

We still have places left on our first Network Leader Day near York on Tuesday 15th April.

As Network Leader if you are not able to attend a Network Leader Day do please pass on the opportunity to one of your helpers or another member of your group so that the benefits of these courses are not wasted!

  Conference Comments & Photos

Our National Conference was a great success. It was lovely to see so many Network Leaders there (20 altogether!), we know some of you travelled from quite a distance and will be feeding back your experience to your groups. Hopefully we can tempt some more members to future WiRE events. We have added some 'WiRE Conference Notes March 2008' to Global Resources to help jog your memory! We have put some of the feedback and photos from the conference on the WiRE blog on the website, so have a look to see if you can spot yourself in the audience!

We are writing a report from the feedback forms for the conference and we will circulate some of the feedback to everyone who attended and will make the information available for Network Leaders on Global Resources.

Make Your Mark Connectors

Make Your Mark is a national campaign to promote entrepreneurship to young people aged 14 - 30.

In order to extend the reach of the campaign, we are looking for the top Connectors in the UK. Connectors are people who run enterprise networks in different sectors and regions across the country. These network leaders play a vital role in promoting an enterprise culture in the UK and inspiring the next generation of young entrepreneurs.

Make Your Mark

The Make Your Mark campaign has already identified over 200 Connectors - you can see a list of their profiles on our website here: http://www.makeyourmarkconnect.org/connector

We link Make Your Mark Connectors to each other through an online networking forum and face-to-face regional events. This provides an effective way to share ideas, advice and opportunities with other network leaders around the country and tap into a diversity of enterprise activities.

If you are a network leader and would like to promote entrepreneurship to young people - why not become a Make Your Mark Connector. For more information, contact Jo Hill on 020 7497 4037 or jo@makeyourmark.org.uk
